Professionals in land development including engineers, surveyors, planners and biologists should be prepared for new federal rules and regulations affecting wetlands. For years, surveyors and other professionals have had an important role documenting, locating and describing the location of wetlands. Generally, once documented, these wetlands come under a variety of rules and regulations meant to protect and preserve these important habitats and associated flora and fauna.
